Active Personal Injury Treatment

by Tam
(Idaho)

The insurance claims adjuster denied to pay half of my medical expenses on the grounds that there was a lapse in "active treatment". After I was discharged from physical therapy and chiropractic care it became clear to me that the pain in my knees was not resolved when I tried to resume normal activity.

I consulted with my primary care physician and we decided on a different course of treatment after the results from diagnostics and testing were completed, which included continuing physical therapy as well as follow up care with specialists. However, because there was a lapse in "active treatment", all bills accrued after the initial round of treatment were denied.
